Matched Betting Experiment - Day 19

Current profit: $2,307.57

So I forgot about a bet I made several days ago which settled on Thursday night. That bet gave me a profit of $13.33.

Quick update on my Edge Boost account I set up. I've been moving around a little bit of money and after 2 days, I've gotten $3 cash back from my transactions. I understand this is not significant, but without this account I would have gotten nothing. So I feel this will be a valuable tool moving forward.

Today I end up placing 13 bets. It's my normal mix of bets and everything goes smooth today. So nothing new to share there.

Saturday morning. Let's check the profits! My 13 bets end up giving me a return of $154.80. Adding my missed Thursday bet to my profit brings this up to $167.13. First a quick correction. I forgot to deduct my qualifying bet loss of from yesterday from my total profit. I thought I lost $1, but after settling up the bet in ProfitDuel, I realized I actually lost 50¢. So my current profit is $178.99. Matched Betting Experiment - Day 1

*** TLDR – I’ve decided to experiment with matched betting and I’m going to share my experience on this blog. I originally started sharing my journey on Reddit, but have added it here as well for visibility.  I’ve been watching this sub and looking for a side hustle for quite a while. Matched Betting Experiment - Day 4

Another day, another lesson (or two) learned. Current profit $231.49. So as I stated yesterday, I have $150 in bonus bets to use last night. So I jump on ProfitDuel to find a match. I find a great bet which is going to turn my promo funds into around $111. Now this return is based on the odds which were current when the deal was found. I check the first sportsbook and the odds have changed slightly. This leads me to check the 2nd sportsbook and I see that the odds there have changed drastically. I put the new odds in the calculator and realize it's going to drastically reduce my profit. Lesson learned. Always double check the odds before placing the bet. So I decided to find another bet. After viewing the other options the bets are either for later this week or require a large counter bet for which I don't currently have the bank roll to cover.
