Matched Betting Experiment - Day 15

Current profit: $1,261.27

 Half way through the experiment. I’ve learned a lot and I’m impressed with the results so far.

Yesterday I mentioned that I received a deposit match offer which I took advantage of. I received another offer today for a 50% deposit match up to $100. So, of course, I took advantage of that daily offer as well.

As I mentioned previously, I have an amazing intro offer from Michigan which involves making bets daily for 10 days. Now I live very close to Michigan. So in order to maximize that introductory offer, I will be traveling up to Michigan each day. I’m planning to got to a fast food restaurant and use their Wi-Fi from the parking lot to take advantage of the offer. I expect this to take about 10 minutes of travel each way. Today is day 3 of the offer, so I’ll be going up today and each of the next 7 days.

On to the bets. Today I place 7 bets. 2 boosted bets, 2 risk free bets, 2 free bets and 1 bet which I learn is called an EV bet. What this means is that no promo or bonus is needed for the profit. You simply find 2 sportsbooks where the opposing bets will guarantee a profit based on the odds offered. Now these bets normally only supply a small profit. But for just a couple minutes of work, I feel they are absolutely worth my time. I’m not paying attention and this EV bet is placed for a game on Thursday instead of Monday night. So I’ll be waiting for that one.

My travel time to Michigan took closer to 15 minutes due to the traffic. Going after work is not the ideal time of day. I’m going to try and go in the morning before work to save time.

Tuesday morning. My boosted bets earn me: $1.67 & $17.95. My EV will settle on Thursday. My 2 risk free bets return profits of $40.59 & $120. As I’ve repeated many times, these risk free bets normally result in small loses, but last night both of the underdogs won. So instant profit for me. Finally my free bets are from the deposit matches I received yesterday. They bring in profits of $44 & $170.76.

Now I know I won’t make this type of money every day. But let’s appreciate that I was able to make almost $400 dollars in one day! That is one hell of a half way point for this experiment.

15 day profit: $1,656.24.

First a quick correction. I forgot to deduct my qualifying bet loss of from yesterday from my total profit. I thought I lost $1, but after settling up the bet in ProfitDuel, I realized I actually lost 50¢. So my current profit is $178.99. Matched Betting Experiment - Day 1

*** TLDR – I’ve decided to experiment with matched betting and I’m going to share my experience on this blog. I originally started sharing my journey on Reddit, but have added it here as well for visibility.  I’ve been watching this sub and looking for a side hustle for quite a while. Matched Betting Experiment - Day 4

Another day, another lesson (or two) learned. Current profit $231.49. So as I stated yesterday, I have $150 in bonus bets to use last night. So I jump on ProfitDuel to find a match. I find a great bet which is going to turn my promo funds into around $111. Now this return is based on the odds which were current when the deal was found. I check the first sportsbook and the odds have changed slightly. This leads me to check the 2nd sportsbook and I see that the odds there have changed drastically. I put the new odds in the calculator and realize it's going to drastically reduce my profit. Lesson learned. Always double check the odds before placing the bet. So I decided to find another bet. After viewing the other options the bets are either for later this week or require a large counter bet for which I don't currently have the bank roll to cover.
