Matched Betting Experiment - Day 6

My first Saturday since starting the experiment. I'm hoping for lots of betting opportunities today. And, as I mentioned yesterday, I have a new type of bonus I'll be using today.

So I end up making 6 bets total. And I've used 2 types of bonuses for today's bets.

3 of my bets involve a bonus offered by the sportsbooks called a 'Profit Boost". This basically just gives you a higher payout if your bet wins. I have 2 30% boosts and 1 50% boost.

Now these bets only give you a small return. But I feel they are worth my time not only for the small return, but I assume the more bets you make the more you'll be valued by the sportsbooks. This could be totally wrong, but I'm hoping these small bets could lead to additional offers in the future There are also reward programs with some of the sportsbooks. So these small bets could also add to my rewards.

Of course, ProfitDuel has a calculator to help you find these bets. I place my 3 boost bets then move on to my next bonus offer.

I signed up for a new sportsbook and they are offering me 10 "No Sweat" bets of $100 each. I'll be given 1 bet each day for 10 days. What this means is if you bet loses, then your $100 is given back to you as a bonus credit. Again, I follow the instructions from ProfitDuel to find my bet. How this type of bet works is you will either win and make a profit or you will lose with a minimal loss and then gain your $100 bonus bet.

I randomly get another no sweat bet from another sportsbook as one of my daily rewards. This one is a bit trickier. It requires me to place a parlay bet. As I explained yesterday, a parlay bet is when you bet on more than one game or more than one condition within a single bet. This greatly reduces your odds of wining, but also greatly increases the payout. This bet is for up to $50. So I use my tools to find 2 bets for $25 each. I know my odds are small because it turns out if I win my parlay bet, that $50 will return over $3,000.

Sunday morning. As usual, I check the results first thing. My parlay bet did not win me $3,000. A boy can hope! My profit from my 3 boost bets is: $4.26, $3.20 & $3.10. All 3 of my no sweat bets lost. And as expected, each incurs a small loss to my total profit. I lose: $27.20, $4.68 & $3.12. Now losing money may seem counter productive, but remember these lost bets have earned me $150 in bonus bets. We can expect those to bring in a profit of $115 or more.

6 day profit: $297.55.

First a quick correction. I forgot to deduct my qualifying bet loss of from yesterday from my total profit. I thought I lost $1, but after settling up the bet in ProfitDuel, I realized I actually lost 50¢. So my current profit is $178.99. Matched Betting Experiment - Day 1

*** TLDR – I’ve decided to experiment with matched betting and I’m going to share my experience on this blog. I originally started sharing my journey on Reddit, but have added it here as well for visibility.  I’ve been watching this sub and looking for a side hustle for quite a while. Matched Betting Experiment - Day 4

Another day, another lesson (or two) learned. Current profit $231.49. So as I stated yesterday, I have $150 in bonus bets to use last night. So I jump on ProfitDuel to find a match. I find a great bet which is going to turn my promo funds into around $111. Now this return is based on the odds which were current when the deal was found. I check the first sportsbook and the odds have changed slightly. This leads me to check the 2nd sportsbook and I see that the odds there have changed drastically. I put the new odds in the calculator and realize it's going to drastically reduce my profit. Lesson learned. Always double check the odds before placing the bet. So I decided to find another bet. After viewing the other options the bets are either for later this week or require a large counter bet for which I don't currently have the bank roll to cover.
