Matched Betting Experiment - Day 11

 Current profit: $647.70.

So today I noticed that my profits posted here are not matching with the profit tracker over at ProfitDuel. As I stated previously, I subtracted the cost of the ProfitDuel subscription from the stated profits. So I would expect the profit here to be around $50 lower than the profit tracker. But it is showing a profit of $803.63. I've made an error somewhere. I don't want to review all my bets, so what I've decided to do is review all of my balances versus my deposits to correct the error. This will need to be done after all bets have settled to get an accurate total. I'll plan this for Monday morning.

Back to business. I haven't mentioned previously, but I live in Ohio and have been taking advantage of the sportsbooks and offers for my state. This weekend, I'll be heading to Michigan and it will allow me access to a couple offers that are not available in my state. So this should be a profitable weekend.

I end up placing 5 bets on Thursday. I place 1 of my free $100 bonus bets. I also receive a fantastic daily bonus offer from FanDuel. If I make 4 bets, they will match me up to $200 with bonus bets. This daily offer is more generous than some of the sign up bonuses I've received. The offer helps me realize that even once the sign up offers are gone, there will still be substantial money to be made. I end up using the calculator for a risk free/no sweat bets. Now this offer is even better than a risk free bet because I get the money back either way. So I'm not sure if there would have been a better way to find the bets, but I do what I know. I end up placing 4 $50 bets to reach the $200 to maximize the promo.

Friday morning. I check my bets. My bonus bet returns a profit of $80. My risk free bets do pretty well. As you know they normally return a small loss. But today I get 2 wins: $20 & $17.50. And 2 loses: -$15.20 & -$13.75. So these overall resulted in a small profit. But more importantly, they've unlocked a $200 bonus bet which I should be able to convert to at least $150 in profit.

11 day profit: $736.25

First a quick correction. I forgot to deduct my qualifying bet loss of from yesterday from my total profit. I thought I lost $1, but after settling up the bet in ProfitDuel, I realized I actually lost 50¢. So my current profit is $178.99. Matched Betting Experiment - Day 1

*** TLDR – I’ve decided to experiment with matched betting and I’m going to share my experience on this blog. I originally started sharing my journey on Reddit, but have added it here as well for visibility.  I’ve been watching this sub and looking for a side hustle for quite a while. Matched Betting Experiment - Day 4

Another day, another lesson (or two) learned. Current profit $231.49. So as I stated yesterday, I have $150 in bonus bets to use last night. So I jump on ProfitDuel to find a match. I find a great bet which is going to turn my promo funds into around $111. Now this return is based on the odds which were current when the deal was found. I check the first sportsbook and the odds have changed slightly. This leads me to check the 2nd sportsbook and I see that the odds there have changed drastically. I put the new odds in the calculator and realize it's going to drastically reduce my profit. Lesson learned. Always double check the odds before placing the bet. So I decided to find another bet. After viewing the other options the bets are either for later this week or require a large counter bet for which I don't currently have the bank roll to cover.
